Did you ever want to learn encaustic painting but couldn’t find a class or felt intimidated by the material requirements? Well, here’s your opportunity to learn encaustic with local mixed media artist Annie Decamp.  Annie brings you a three-day workshop where you get to learn mixed media with encaustic to create a memorable piece of art to take home or gift.  In this workshop, Annie will assist you in creating a digitized image of your own, preferably a family photo, to create an old world feel to the image.  She will do the digitization for you or you can do your own with her guidance before the first day of class.  When you arrive, your image will be printed on a 10”x10” MDF board ready for your art exploration.

In this class you will learn the basics of encaustic painting including materials, studio set up, safety and precautions, how to use encaustics with other materials, and finishing processes.  No experience is needed for this class, just an excitement and willingness to play with materials and learn proper encaustic techniques.

Class includes all materials including oil paint, encaustic, a prepared photo image and a frame so you can walk away with a finished painting, ready to hang by the end of the session.
