Spencer Gil-Kist

Spencer grew up in San Clemente, CA and at the age of eight, joined The All-American Boys Chorus, a professional, touring boys chorus. For six years, he sang and toured the world with the chorus, while receiving a thorough musical education. At age 14, he became very influenced by The Beatles, and the band inspired him to be a songwriter; thus becoming a master of guitar and piano.

Spencer attended the University of New Orleans, where he studied saxophone and majored in vocal performance. After university, he actively played music with a variety of groups while living in New Orleans. Upon returning home to California, Spencer began teaching consistently for many years, diversifying to teaching ten instruments! He loves creating music, improvising, song-writing, and soloing, and enjoys listening to traditional music from all over the world, and teaching all of genres of music, including classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary. Some of Spencer’s favorite things in life consist of nature, travel, sports, and comedy, and he is passionate about inspiring others through the power of music.
