New Programs, New Partnerships: Spring & Fall 2025 with New Cottage Arts

We're always listening, learning, and growing. As we move through Spring and into Fall 2025, we're thrilled to share some exciting new programs, expanded partnerships, and our intentional approach to building community-rooted arts and music education.

New Quarter, New Classes: Fashion, Painting & Drumline This spring, NCA is proud to continue our strong relationship with Grant and Kepner Beacon Middle Schools by launching a fresh quarter of afterschool enrichment classes. These include:

  • Drumline Empowerment Program at both Grant and Kepner, led by our dedicated teaching artists, continuing to build rhythm, discipline, and student leadership.

  • Fashion & Painting classes that give students an opportunity to explore self-expression through visual design, storytelling, and wearable art.

These programs provide creative outlets, community-building, and real-world applications for middle school students who otherwise have limited access to arts education during the school day.

Expanding Through DPS Partnerships Thanks to our growing collaboration with Denver Public Schools, we are excited to be offering new art classes through the district. These classes provide in-school and after-school opportunities for elementary and middle school students, where creativity is celebrated and cultural identity can thrive.

In the Works: Wyatt Academy Music & Art Afterschool Program Looking ahead to the 2025-26 school year, we're thrilled to begin planning a new year-round afterschool program at Wyatt Academy. This partnership will bring:

  • Weekly music and art classes

  • Student surveys to guide content and make sure classes are accessible and meaningful

  • Community events to introduce NCA instructors and build relationships

  • Participation in Wyatt's Spring 2025 concerts and community art nights to create a sense of belonging and trust

  • Ongoing collaboration with Wyatt leadership and families to shape programming that responds directly to student voice

We're also applying for additional funding to provide high-quality instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure every student has access, regardless of background.

Our Approach: Partnership First At NCA, we believe arts education is most impactful when it grows from the ground up. That means:

  • Building trust through presence and consistency at school and community events

  • Getting direct input from students and families before classes begin

  • Introducing instructors early to reduce barriers and increase excitement

  • Creating intentional spaces where young people can discover themselves through music and art

As always, we are grateful to our partners, sponsors, and supporters who make this work possible. Your belief in equitable arts education powers every new drumbeat, brushstroke, and confident young voice we nurture.
